Motivated by Asian philosophers, Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) was developed
by Albert Ellis. His studies led him to believe that there are both rational and irrational elements to every individual s thought process. When a person has both types of thoughts, the illogical tend to overpower the rational, leading to patterns of self destructiveness.
