Why is it you can comfortably wait to go to the bathroom until you turn the key to the door of my house?

Then a mad dash to the bathroom and panic to get my pants down before I mess. How does my ass know that I am at home and only one flight of stairs outside the Cup bathroom?

Well, the home in general, people associated with relaxation and "anything goes." Many people are usually hesitant about using public restrooms, while at home, we are free to go anytime we please, without hesitation. How to Stop A Panic Attack

Though a lot of people just adjust their lives to deal with their panic attacks, it important to find a solution that can, and will stop panic attacks. It is possible, but requires a little self-training.

The first step to stop panic before it has a chance to build. This is probably the hardest step because it requires you to recognize what’s happening and to implement interruption techniques as quickly as possible.

An easy step to stop panic from building is to focus on your breathing. When you become aware that your body is moving towards a panic attack, focus immediately on taking deep, regular breaths. This is a skill that you will develop over time, but an incredibly effective technique. Pretty easy to do anywhere too – no one will know what you’re doing.

There are other techniques to stop panic such as interrupting your thinking patterns. Interrupt the thought “I’m having a panic attack” try other, empowering thoughts such as “I recognize that my body started to panic, and I am maintaining control”. Whatever works for you, do it.

One of the best ways to stop panic is to learn your triggers. Do you have a phobia? Does doing a certain activity (like driving) frighten you? When you know what triggers your panic attacks, you will be better prepared to handle the situation.

Once you learn to control your panic attacks through breathing and interrupting your thoughts, consider desensitizing yourself to the trigger. If your fear is driving, for example, test yourself with certain goals. Standing next to the car could be one. Once you do that successfully, try sitting in the car while it is off. If that’s too much, find something in the middle so you don’t regress back to the previous goal. Try standing next to the car with the driver’s door open. Stay there until you feel calm. Celebrate by slamming that door closed!

Not long ago, a close friend lost his battle with his anxiety disorder. While he was alive, I watched, helpless, as he struggled to strike a balance between a healthy life and managing his disorder.

This shirt has the words "DON'T PANIC and CARRY A TOWEL" inscribed in large friendly letters beneath a crown in white on a red 100% cotton t-shirt.
