Panic Disorder Treatment Medication

Panic Disorder Treatment Medication

Anxiety disorders / panic attacks?

I know someone who is being treated for panic attacks associated w / anxiety disorder. Today Zolfot been taking for 8 years. However, I have known this person for 3 years. I found that in the last 3 years, this person has changed significantly. All of the issue they have, are being Zolfot side effects. This includes weight gain, drowsiness, a general lack of energy and interest and (from what I hear) the lack of sexual desire. I suggested that this person stop taking the drug, but are afraid of panic attacks may begin again. I do not blame them. However, it is there anyway that a person can be treated w / a different drug. Also, no way that a person can receive treatment for anxiety disorders and panic attacks through work w / a therapist?

Hi, sorry your friend is getting panic attacks. If he / She wants to eliminate the panic attacks I tell them to take the following steps. 1.Breathe correctly. If you control your breathing, panic control. As soon as you note the signs of anxiety, check your breathing: inhale slowly through your nose pushing your belly out (to the count of 5 or less). Exhale slowly and a little more (to the count of 7 or less) through your mouth. No rapid or shallow breathing (the chest area). This will soon restore the balance of oxygen and you will feel much best. 2. Try CBT! CBT is proven to be as effective for anxiety and panic attacks. Takes a little work, but it is very effective. (After 15 years of panic attacks, mine stopped completely). You can take a free course online at livinglifetothefull.com has been funded by the NHS Scotland and has had great results so far. 3. Try relaxation exercise tapes (progressive muscular relaxation). It really helps if you practice often enough. This site has instructions on how to do it without the tape (and useful): http://www.cci.health.wa.gov.au/resource ... Good luck to you both.

What Type of Panic Disorder Treatment is Best for You?

When you suffer from a panic disorder, finding a treatment that works is probably the most important thing to you. Although each treatment type is effective, there are many factors that can make a particular treatment even more effective for you as an individual. Find what's best for you by exploring the following factors.

Money – Getting treatment for panic disorder can be expensive regardless of whether or not you have health insurance. Even if you don't have to pay out of pocket for counseling or medications, often times there is at least a co-pay. One of the alternative methods of treating your anxiety may be better for you if you don't have the money to continually pay these amounts. These alternative treatments are often free or have just a one-time fee.

Time – Each treatment will take time to see results, but some take more time than others. Counseling sessions may take a half hour to an hour, once or twice a week and can continue on for months. Medications often take weeks to see results and even then, the results may not be favorable. Alternative methods such as the Linden method can be used at your own pace and people have seen positive results within a few days.

Anonymity – There are people who are more private than others when it comes to seeking treatments for their problems. If you find yourself wanting to remain anonymous, then counseling sessions may prove to be too embarrassing for you. If this is the case, you may want to purchase a home treatment program so that you can seek treatment with absolute privacy. This is also important for those who suffer social phobias and are unable to go out in public.

If you consider these three factors, you should be able to find a treatment that is right for you. The better a treatment program suits you, the more effective it will be and the sooner you will start feeling relief from your panic disorder symptoms.
