How I can prevent and treat panic / anxiety attacks?

I have suffered / panic anxiety attacks for a year. They are caused by aches and pains, or stress at work (I am a manager of retail). Those who have been attacked before realizing that although you know they are very well, your body tells you something different and it is so difficult to calm down. I want some natural alternatives, rather than taking medication. I have no money to go to a pyschologist, so I'm looking for other ways to keep calm. Any suggestions / sources, especially those who have personal experience would be great. I need ideas for prevention, and ideas for treatment when I have them. Thanks for your help. Serious answers only please. By the way, I was in Lexapro for 6 or more months and klonopin when needed, I do not want to go that route again. I do not want to be on medication;)
